Legal

Intern Legal & Business Affairs

  • Internship
  • Minimum 6 months
  • Amsterdam

Work directly with our in-house legal counsel on real contracts and cases for composers, publishers, labels and music production companies, and see how rights are processed and exploited in practice.

You work closely with our colleagues in copyright administration, royalties and management, so you learn not only the legal side of music rights but also how agreements and rights are handled in practice. You get more room to pick up files independently as your internship goes on.

What you'll do

  • Draft, review and archive contracts, licence, distribution, administration and partnership agreements
  • Do legal research and write legal analyses
  • Support disputes, claims and copyright questions
  • Manage and check music rights with Buma/Stemra, Sena and international collective management organisations
  • Track agreements, terms and key deadlines
  • Help answer legal and copyright questions from clients
  • Follow developments in copyright, neighbouring rights and regulation

Who you are

  • A law student at university or university of applied sciences level
  • Affinity with copyright, intellectual property and/or the music industry
  • Precise, with a good overview
  • Proactive, curious and not afraid to ask questions
  • Good Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of music rights is nice, not necessary, eagerness to learn matters most

What we offer

  • A varied internship in the international music industry, for at least six months
  • A suitable monthly internship allowance
  • Personal supervision by our in-house legal counsel
  • Real legal files and contracts, and plenty of room for initiative
  • Hands-on experience with copyright, neighbouring rights, licences and contracts
  • An informal atmosphere with short lines and enthusiastic colleagues
